Sponsor a Child
We currently operate 4 child sponsorship programmes which directly benefits over 90 families. Sponsors pay £10 per month/£120 per year to Ocean Stars who send the money on to Sri Lanka. This money goes to some of the poorest families and the money helps to give the children a better start in life - providing clothes, food and educational equipment. Kalladay Sponsorship Programme
Through this scheme families sponsor children whose parents are hearing impaired. The parents are often at a disadvantage at the work place though most of them are very enterprising and try to bring in an income. The families are very grateful to Ocean Stars for their support. Vincent Girls School Sponsorship Scheme
The Deputy Head OF Vincent Girls School died in the Tsunami of December 26th 2004. Her brother Rev David Jebb was at that time Methodist Minister at Farnborough North Camp Methodist Church. Rev David Jebb asked Ocean Stars if we would set up a sponsorship programme in memory of his sister. So the Vincent sponsorship programme was launched in April 2005. Vellaimanal Sponsorship Scheme
Ocean Stars Trust has been involved with the local community in Vellaimanal since the Tsunami devastated their village which is situated in China Bay, Trincomalee. We sponsor families whose children attend the local playgroup and also help with funding the playgroup.
